My Life In Fashion, Martina Hamilton. Irish Country Magazine, September 2018

I'm delighted to be featured in the September issue of the Irish Country Magazine with a wonderful two page interview about my life in fashion. It also features beautiful photos, taken by Peter Martin, of our brand ambassador Leonie Cornelius. Below is an excerpt of the interview:

"Why did you decide to work in design?
I studied fine art sculpture, so the progression for me into jewellery design was quite organic. I started to apply the same principles for designing a piece of sculpture to jewellery. One of the guiding principles I took from my sculpture training was how to respect the innate qualities of the material you worked in, whatever it was. I think this has stood to me greatly over the years. At the time I was starting there was an opportunity to make jewellery that was quite different to what was available and traditional heretofore, and I was part of a generation who were designing and creating hewellery based on their own creative impulses; we were creatiing a niche market for that in the country, even if we didn't know it at the time."
