Martina and her family team of jewellers are celebrating 30 years making jewellery!

“Within our retail outlet and workshop premises on Castle Street there have been some very busy days behind the scenes this year, it is our Pearl anniversary and we’re going to mark it in style. We are delighted to officially open our completely new Design Studio, right in-store!” 

Martina and her team cut the ribbon of a totally new Jewellery Design Studio last week. This hidden gem, situated right inside the shop is the new showcase home for the Martina Hamilton Jewellery collection, and most particularly for a thriving bespoke jewellery design service that is as popular and enduring as the shop itself.

“It’s a studio that might never have been” maintains Martina “During a small renovation on an old storage area last year local builder Christopher Hamilton discovered a bricked-up archway from the storage area into the shop. This discovery immediately changed our priorities for the renovation, and we knew the possibilities that arose would be an important step forward for us this year.”

Since founding her jewellery design business over 30 years ago, Martina and her team of goldsmiths have specialised in working with individual customers, creating unique one-off pieces of jewellery for special milestones and celebrations in people’s lives.

“The design process for creating these bespoke pieces is a meaningful and special process in and of itself” she says. Martina and her team are extremely proud of the bespoke aspect of their work and the new design studio is testament to this. “Bespoke jewellery made and designed here is invariably created to mark or celebrate a very special moment in people’s lives. It is always a great honour to play a significant part in these occasions, where people engage with us, creating an ideal wedding or engagement ring for example, or indeed the many other occasional pieces people ask us to create to celebrate truly significant moments and milestones in their lives. Our new design studio will greatly enhance and support that experience for our customers. In the privacy of the new studio we will be able to develop design ideas, discuss the metal and stones and other vital elements of the pieces we are creating. We have always been passionate about customer service, and so it is with great pride that we are able now to invite people in to view and experience our new instore design studio.”
